Collection: War & Consequences

Why paint war? Is it truly necessary when we are already overwhelmed by violent images that feed our subconscious, stirring guilt, anger, and helplessness? Is it a duty of remembrance? These images will always find a way to resurface, one way or another. Or is it a way to free the mind? Brushes guide the hand, releasing the violence within us, letting the tears flow. Yet there is no true healing—neither for oneself nor for the subjects of the paintings, who remain the only real sufferers. Still, I wanted to explore these sadly familiar themes, while adding that faint touch of hope that revives, rekindles, and resurrects even in the darkest moments.Human nature is such that—even beaten, humiliated, or exiled—there remains a tiny spark that longs to ignite again. A gesture of kindness, a sudden glimpse of beauty, and there it is: hope, rising once more from the depths of a broken humanity.

Humbly, I have added a few fragments of silk and gold to my watercolors, perhaps to remind us that from every form of destruction, beauty can be reborn—against all odds.

The items in your store were a perfect combination of beauty and inspiration. Each piece we purchased, the lamp and lampshade, glass votives, copper pots and sachets of lavender were beautiful gifts to special friends and family. How you make these pieces of art also made us feel great about how we were helping to make a difference in a small way. We told your stories to the people who received each special gift and how we were supporting our global community and building bridges.”
