Collection: Upcycled Lamps & Candleholders from Architectural Salvage

Beauty with Purpose! The journey of our creations often starts in a remote village or in salvage yards in Lebanon where we painstakingly search for discarded architectural elements of 18th, 19th or early 20th century houses that have been demolished and replaced by concrete structures.

The majority of our salvaging quests take place in Lebanon. We sift through the rubble to identify potentially interesting pieces. We let our imagination flow to give a new life to these discarded pieces of art. Our drawings are then carefully translated into timeless creations by our skilled artisans.

  • Our creative process

The majority of our salvaging quests takes place in Lebanon – a land where unmonitored real estate development and little preservation efforts have led to the demolition of old houses and their replacement by modern buildings and high rises. In the past, other destinations included Syria before the conflict and Egypt.

We sift through the rubble to identify potentially interesting pieces. We let our imagination flow to give a new life to these discarded pieces of art. Our drawings are then carefully translated into timeless creations by our skilled artisans.

We recently started exploring salvage yards in France as well, and launched a collection with local French designer Emma Feat, "Heritage".

    Nothing goes to waste

We produce out of what already exists: we follow a circular production model where everything that we make is recycled/upcycled. We work with people from marginalized backgrounds and train them to become great artisans, pay them fair wages, and give them access to new markets.

    Past Collections

In the past, our collections were mostly focused on one-of-a-kind wrought-iron home decor pieces such as tables, consoles and mirrors. Blending the centuries-old art of marquetry with contemporary designs, we also created a line of high-quality handcrafted wooden trays, wall mirrors, versatile small tables and lamps. Fuelled by the desire to provide work to conflict-affected individuals, we selected displaced skilled artisans from Syria. They developed the exquisite geometric collages of woodcuts and fragments of various tints and colours and mother-of-pearl that were then inlaid in our items.
