Terracotta embroidered linen square pillow case
The pattern of these terracotta throw pillow covers shows curls or "eggs" embroidered with a silk thread, turning into loops on a warm red brick linen. The semi manual embroidery "aghabani" technique is part of a remarkable savoir-faire initiated in Aleppo, Syria more than 150 years ago.
Each pillow case demands several hours of work and requires a perfect coordination hand-eye, with a specific embroidery machine.
